My Last Blog!

Well, I'm so glad to say that this is my last blog! I'm not sad that this blog has come to an end. I don't even know what to write about. My first year of college is almost over and I feel dead. I have had 7 tests this week! Don't you think that's outrageous? I haven't had fun in a long time because of school! All I ever do is sit home and study for all these classes! I am so happy to be almost done with this year. I do feel good that I survived it. A lot of people drop out of classes or even drop out of college. I don't think that school is that awful, although it does feel like that sometimes. You just have to study and set your priorities. Some people don't study and go out all the time and don't do their homework, and then they complain about how they're failing a class. What do you expect? To get A's for doing nothing? I'm not the perfect student either, but I do try to get good grades. I'm glad to say that I will not be failing any classes this semester, and that I didn't fail any last semester. I'm also glad that I have friends that try just as hard as me to get good grades, like Sarah! :) (I know you're going to read this Sarah so I decided to mention you haha love you!) People like her are the ones that never give up and are a good example to you.

Stalkeeeerrrrssss

A lot of people joke around about stalking. I do too. You probably say to your friends sometimes "are you stalking me?" Well I just started to watch this show on ID called Stalked: Someone's watching. They're based on true stories and they are creepy! I didn't know the real definition of stalking until I watched that show. They are some psycho creeps out there that stalk people from 10 to 50 years! Yes, 50 years! That is scary! The scariest part about it is that the police can't really do anything about it unless you have proof that someone is stalking you. You never know who could be a possible stalker either. It could be someone that you're nice too. He or she might mistake niceness for affection towards them, and he or she might stalk you because of that. Or he or she might stalk you because she or he hate you and wants to kill you. There was this really creepy episode where this stalker broke into a girl's house while she was sleeping and took a picture of her sleeping. Then he emailed it to her! He could have killed her! What kind of sick person does that? So be careful out there. Don't be too mean to people. You never know who could stalk you!

awkward.

There's this tv show on MTV called Awkward. It's one of my favorites. I'm blogging about it because the main charcater, Jenna, blogs about her life. So I guess there's a connection. She's actually blogging because she wants to. I'm blogging because I have to. haha. She also blogs about personal things. I won't blog about personal things because anyone can read my blogs. She had hers on private, but her blogs went viral one day. She had turned hers public and everyone read her business. It's a really good show. Some things are exaggerated, like the way they dress. There's no way they would be able to dress like that in high school. But people might be able to relate to other things like how hard high school can be sometimes. Or how awful a teacher can be. Or relationship problems, with friends and/or a boyfriend. Her mom is also crazy so some people might relate to that. The show is really funny, too. So if you can't really relate to it like me, you can just watch it to relax and laugh for a while. It can be very "over the top" at times, if you get what I mean. So don't watch it with your siblings if they're super younger than you. haha :P

soccer

Okay, so I'm a huge soccer fan! I love playing soccer and I love watching soccer. I don't think soccer is the best sport in the world. I know it is! That's how passionate I am about it. My favorite soccer team is F.C. Barcelona. My favorite soccer player is and always will be Ronaldinho. You're probably wondering why I'm writing about soccer for my english class. You're probably also thinking it's because I cant think of anything else to write about. Well you're partially correct. I really couldn't think of anything else at that moment, but soccer brings out many emotions in people. Players and spectators. Just like a poem or a book can bring out emotions too. The author of the work writes about what he or she is feeling or has felt. Their work can affect the reader. Soccer can bring out so many emotions from a person. Anger, when the ref is making bad calls. Sadness, when your team is losing. Joy, when your team is winning, or when your team's arch enemy is losing. The player's attitude and emotions also affect the spectators. I have been fortunate enough to watch my favorite soccer team play in an actual stadium twice. I have also seen Ronaldinho play in person. I have watched my team's arch enemy play in a stadium play too. Soccer brings out the worst and best in me. Especially during the world cup. I go crazy. I would never go crazy over a book or poem, though. I'm just not passionate about it. Ronaldinho can be my poem, and Barcelona can be my book haha ;)

The Count of Monte Cristo

Have you guys ever read the book The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexander Dumas? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. I read it when I was in 10th grade, I think. I absolutely loved it. It's about a guy named Edmond Dantes who was poor but was slowly building his way up. His bestfriend was jealous of his fiancee and his growing success that he betrays him and frames him for a crime. Dantes is sent to jail for life for the crime. While Dantes is in jail, he meets an elderly man named Abbe Faria, who teaches him lots of things. Dantes becomes very smart and educated. He also tells Dantes about a secret treasure and he tells him how to find it. Abbe Faria dies there and that is how Dantes escapes. He puts himself in Abbe Faria's body bag and is thrown into the sea. After 14 years, Dantes is finally free. He goes and finds the treasure and that's when he starts to get his revenge. He wasn't evil though. He just wanted justice and he got it. I won't tell you anymore about it because I will ruin the entire book for you. There's also a movie based on the book. There's some things that have been changed but it's still one of my favorite movies. So if you don't like reading, just watch the movie. They're both great! :)

Postpartum Depression

I didn't know how bad postpartum depression could be until I wrote a paper about it for english. I decided to write about "The Yellow Wallpaper," so I wrote about how the woman had postpartum depression. You could say that there are 3 stages of this depression. Baby blues is the mildest. Baby blues is a depression that women who have just had a baby can get. It only lasts one to two weeks, though. If baby blues doesn't go away, then it turns into postpartum depression. This is where medication is needed. The symptoms worsen and counseling is also needed. If someone who has postpartum depression doesn't get treated, the depression turns into postpartum psychosis. This is the most severe. This is where women start having hallucinations and are very paranoid. This is exactly what happened to the woman in "The Yellow Wallpaper." I blame her husband, too. Women who don't get treated for this can end up doing horrible things to themselves or others. I think that the woman in the story really did hang herself with the rope. I actually learned a lot about postpartum depression from this short story. I was surprised at how much I got from it.

Procrastination

Well, it's getting close to the end of the semester. It's actually the last week of classes. One thing I have always been bad at is procrastination. Actually, I'm pretty good at it because I procrastinate a lot. I've always been told not to procrastinate, but I never listen. Sometimes it's really not my fault. I'm taking so many classes that I have to prioritize. I have to decide which class is more important at the time, and since we have a loose deadline for this class, I always left these blogs as my last priority. Now, I'm trying to think of things to blog about and I came up with this. I have about 6 more blogs to do. This is what I get for procrastinating. I don't feel bad about procrasting sometimes though. I only feel bad when I get bad grades for not studying because I procrastinated. So good thing I didn't have to study to write blogs! Well, th point im trying to make is that, kids, don't procrastinate! It's like a drug! Once you start, you can't stop! Seriously, it's really hard. You always say "Oh, I'll do it later" or "I have plenty of time." You really won't do it later, and you probably really don't have plenty of time, so do whatever you have to do NOW! :)

Harry Potter!!!

Well since this is english class and I don't have anything to really write about, I'm going to write about Harry Potter and How much I love the books and the movies!! I grew up with Harry Potter, and I am obsessed with it!! I didn't read the books at first, though. I watched the movies and then I read the books. I didn't want to be critizising the movie while I watched it. After all the movies came out, I read the books, and I still loved the movies just the same. The books were wayyyy better of course, though! The movies left so much out! I don't know how J.K. Rowling had such an imagination! She is amazing! I would try and tell all you people who haven't read the books all about it; however, there is so much to these books that it is impossible for me to summarize. Plus, I don't want to ruin it for people that haven't read them yet! Just know that they are really really good! Just like the movies! The movies made me cry!!! There's so much sadness in this whole story! There's happy times too though! Okay, well I'm rambling on about how great Harry Potter is, that I'm starting to annoy myself! So I'm going to stop! Just read the books and watch the movies if you haven't yet! :D haha

The Glass Menagerie

Well this past week, we watched the play "The Glass Menagerie" in class. We were also supposed to read the play. I don't really like plays at all. I think they're boring but this one was a little extra boring to me. The mom (Amanda) also reminded me a lot of the grandma in "A Good Man Is Hard to Find." They were both so annoying, but I think Amanda wins the annoying contest. She was always in other people's business. It's also all her fault that things go wrong, just like it was the grandma's fault that her entire family died. If Amanda hadn't bugged her son to bring a man over for dinner for his sister, his sister wouldn't have gone through all that heartache. Just because she had all those gentleman callers, doesn't mean that her daughter was going to be the same way. Her daughter gets on my nerves too. She's so awkward and shy. She's also too obsessed with her glass. How interesting can glass animals be? That's another reason why I don't like this play. It's back in the day when there was no tv or anything. They didn't really have much things to choose from to do, but I'm sure there was something more interesting than staring at glass animals. She was also a quiter! She dropped out of school because she was getting bad grades. She was probably so worried about all the noise her cast-thing made that she couldn't concentrate in class. She also dropped out of her type-writing class because she got nervous and threw up. She was so embarrassed that she didn't go back. Oh! I also remember that the tuition for her college class was $50! I think that was the part of the play that stuck out the most to me! I wish tuition was that much today!

the stupid grandma and the yellow wallpaper freak

So these two stories are about crazy people. The first story was about a family  who was going on a road trip to florida and their stupid, annoying grandma came along with them. She ended up persuading the family to go to this one house that supposedly had a secret passageway in it. She obviously made that up. She's so stupid that she forgot that the house was in a different state. Oh, and while all this was going on, there was a misfit on the loose. The stupid grandma aslo hid her cat in the car because she wanted to take the cat with her on vacation. Well, this cat freaks out and jumps onto the father of the family, who is the son of the grandma, and causes an accident. The car flips over but everyone was okay. Then guess who came along down the road? Yupp, the misfit. He ends up killing the entire family, including the grandma. They all died because the stupid grandma wanted to go to a house that was in a different state!
The second story was about a woman who is locked up in a room because she is "sick." She just had a baby, so I think she is suffering from postpartum depression. She wasn't allowed near the baby, and her husband was having an affair. I don't really know that for sure, but I think he was. That's why he had her looked up in a room. Well, this woman has an obsession with the wallpaper in the room. At first she hates it, but then for some reason she becomes kind of fond of it. She says she sees a woman on one side and bars on the other. I think she was just seeing herself being locked up in the room. The ending really confused me. It was also really creepy. It reminded me of those scary movies where people get posessed. She did something with a rope that she had. I don't know where she got it from, but when her husband opened the door, he fainted. She said she had to "creep" over him every time. That's the part that reminds me of the scary movie. Maybe she killed her husband. I don't know. This story was just really weird.

The Cask of Amontillado is about two guys, Fortunato and Montresor. Montresor says that Fortunato insulted him but he doesn't say how. He says he will get his revenge, and he does. During a carnival, Montresor sees Fortunato and takes advantage of the fact that Fortunato is a little drunk (he likes his wine). Montresor tells him he has a some type of wine and he wants Fortunato to give him his opinion of it. Montresor takes him to his house  and down to the wine cellars and Fortuanto offers him wine, so he gets even more drunk. He also has a cough and its getting worse because of the mold thats down there. Then they go into the catacombs and eventually they reach a dead end and Montresor chains him up and builds a wall to trap him in there. Fortunato screams and shakes the chains and thinks it's all a joke. Montresor leaves him there to die. I have always thought that Poe was a pyscho because he always wrote about crazy things like killing people and stuff. Maybe he did some of the stuff he wrote about and was never caught for it.
